Relatives of two women who were crushed to death in a department store roof collapse that also killed 12 other people in Brownsville, Tex., filed negligence lawsuits against the store’s owner. Two of the lawsuits were filed against Bernard Levine, owner of the Amigo department store, and his company, Los Amigos Inc. A third lawsuit named the company and the store’s builders, Adams Bros. General Contractors Inc. The three-story building collapsed Thursday during a torrential rain. In addition to the 14 who died, at least 47 people were injured.
