Malibu : County Renews Transit Service
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has awarded a $75,328 contract to Hemodialysis Inc. of Glendale for continuation of transit services to elderly and handicapped residents in the area.
The dial-a-ride service will cover Malibu and up to five miles beyond, including three sites in Santa Monica: St. John’s Hospital, Santa Monica Hospital and Santa Monica College.
Reservations will be needed 24 hours in advance and may be made by calling (800) 225-1362. Rides will be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for eligible people 60 and older and for handicapped people. The fare will be 50 cents per one-way ride.
The county formerly had a one-year contract with the firm. The new contract is for a two-year period.
