This is a summary of recent contracts the federal government has awarded or intends to award to recipients in the Los Angeles area. The University of Southern California has won a $2.24-million contract from the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute in Bethesda, Md., for a prospective study of the association of blood product use with immune function changes, and a $433,000 contract from the National Institutes of Health for the establishment of AIDS treatment evaluation units.
