Reagan Urged to End Ban on Visas

Twenty-two senators urged President Reagan on Friday to let the U.S. Embassy in Moscow resume issuing visas to Soviet citizens seeking to immigrate to the United States.

The State Department recently announced it was suspending issuance of visas in Moscow until October because of a lack of funds for processing, transporting and resettling the unexpectedly large number of Soviet visa applicants. The decision affected mainly Soviet Armenians.
