At least four people were killed and more than 17 were injured in southern Pakistan during a day of ethnic violence between native Sindhis and Mohajir immigrants from India, government officials said. Authorities called in troops and imposed an indefinite curfew on the city of Hyderabad as clashes erupted after gunmen killed a municipal councilor and wounded the town’s Mohajir mayor. Supporters of the mayor believed that Sindhis were responsible for the attack.
