Dr. Allan R. Mintz has been named vice president of medical affairs for FHP Inc., a health maintenance organization with headquarters in Fountain Valley. Mintz succeeds Dr. Pieter A. Huitema, who has taken a medical leave of absence. Mintz joined FHP three years ago as an associate medical director in the Utah region. Since then, he has held the positions of Utah medical director and associate vice president of medical affairs in FHP’s California region and the company’s headquarters. In his new position, he will be responsible for supervising the quality of health care FHP members receive.
