Defense Scandal

Congratulations to The Times for the July 4 article on “the massive procurement scandal now enveloping the Defense Department.”
I noted that former Secretary of Defense Caspar W. Weinberger was called a “cheerleader” of these corporate hustlers who greedily looted public funds for the profits of their respective companies.
It reminded me that former OMB director David Stockman once referred to Weinberger as a “salesman” for the defense industries.
