TUCSON —
In operations that included a “domino” heart transplant, five people received new organs, four from a single donor identified only as a Las Vegas boy, doctors said.
In surgery at the University of Arizona Medical Center Sunday, Sharon Thomas, 33, of Tempe, received the boy’s heart and lungs, and her heart was then transplanted into William McQuillen, 63, of Las Vegas. The youth’s kidneys and liver were donated to other patients, who were not identified.
