THE COMMON GOOD
The central national radio of Switzerland has received recorded AIDS information messages for air from such diverse Europeans as French singer Charles Aznavour, English actress Jane Birkin and French Formula One driving champion Alain Prost. Three or four of the recorded warnings will be heard each day through September on the French-language Swiss radio. Jonathan Mann, head of the AIDS program at the Geneva-based World Health Organization, as well as Swiss Interior Minister Flavio Cotti and Pierre Mamie, archbishop of Geneva, Fribourg, and Lausanne, have also recorded warnings. Switzerland suffers the second highest rate of reported cases of AIDS in Europe; France is first.
