If you can’t stand TV ads for feminine hygiene products or those loud Energizer battery spots, you are certainly not alone. A survey appearing in this week’s Advertising Age magazine asked 1,000 adults which ads they hated most. The winner (or, perhaps, loser): feminine hygiene commercials. “Nothing else known to man or woman send viewers scrambling to change channels faster,” according to the magazine. Women disliked beer and alcohol ads generally, followed by Massengill douche ads and Energizer battery ads with Jacko, “the screaming Australian spokesman.” Men singled out feminine hygiene ads as the top offenders, followed by all commercials, car sales (especially the Nissan “human race” ads) and McDonald’s spots.
