Paine Webber Group Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $159,000, down significantly from net income of $17.6 million in the year-ago quarter, partially because of a lack of interest by individual investors. Revenue totaled $565.7 million, down from $637.6 million in the 1986 quarter. The New York-based brokerage said trading businesses also were moderately affected by “generally inactive markets.”
