Intermark reported $804,000 in net income and revenue that increased by 17% to $195 million for the first quarter ended June 30. The La Jolla-based conglomerate reported a $4.6-million net loss and $167 million in revenue during the like quarter a year ago. The year-ago quarter included a $7 million extraordinary charge generated by the retirement of debt.
Intermark said operating income and revenue at its majority-owned Pier 1 Imports business were up “significantly” over the previous year. Intermark’s Sunbelt Nursery subsidiary reported “strong sales” during the quarter, but its Dynamark Ltd. operation reported a decline in sales.
