Local News in Brief : Animal Cruelty Reward

Share

An animal rights group offered a $5,000 reward Monday for information leading to the conviction of whoever was responsible for chaining a puppy to a railroad track last week. The puppy, a 4-month-old shepherd mix, later dubbed Kelly, was struck and injured by a train in Monrovia on Friday morning. It is currently fighting an infection brought on by the injury.

The reward is a “statement by Last Chance for Animals that society cannot be complacent or tolerate cruelty against animals in the experimental lab or on the street,” said Chris DeRose of the Los Angeles-based organization.
