Fire Destroys Part of Cairo Tourist Bazaar

CAIRO —
Store owners fled 37 gold and silver workshops in panic as explosions and fire gutted part of a 500-year-old building in Cairo’s tourist bazaar of Khan Khalili, police said Friday.
The owners of the complex estimated the damage at $50 million.
