Sun Microsystems Inc.’s profit jumped 83% to $66.4 million for the year, compared to 1987. Revenue totaled $1.05 billion, up 96%. The Mountain View, Calif., computer maker credited the results to becoming the market share leader in technical workstations and to industrywide acceptance of its Sparc microprocessor.
