Governor’s Cup : San Francisco Yacht Clubs Stay Unbeaten

Teams from the Richmond and St. Francis yacht clubs of San Francisco remained undefeated Friday On the second day of the 22nd annual Governor’s Cup regatta at the Balboa Yacht Club.

Richmond and St. Francis each swept three match races Friday. Clubs have three races a day during the four-day regatta, which ends Sunday.

The Capistrano Yacht Club of Dana Point, skippered by Geoff Becker, won two of its three races and dropped out of a first-place tie. Capistrano has five victories in six races.

The Newport Harbor and San Diego yacht clubs each have four victories. Bahia Corinth of Newport Beach and Tamaki of New Zealand have three. Alamitos Yacht Club of Long Beach and Waikiki of Hawaii have two. The host Balboa Yacht Club has one. The Chicago Yacht Club and Southwestern Yacht Club of San Diego are winless.
