South Korean government officials are concerned about students who may attempt to disrupt the Olympic Games, a Seoul newspaper reported.
The English-language Korea Times quoted sources as saying that the government regards radical students as the greatest threat to the Sept. 17-Oct. 2 Olympics.
The newspaper said radical students might try to disrupt the Games if police block their march to the border for talks with North Korean students. Saturday, police banned all rallies by students who want to march to the border.
South Korea’s radical students have called for a cross-country march Aug. 8-14 and a series of rallies along the way, leading up to talks Aug. 15 with North Korean students in the border truce village of Panmunjom.
