Datron Systems Reports 51% Gain in Net Income

Datron Systems, a Simi Valley maker of satellite communications and electronic systems, reported that its net income for the first quarter that ended June 30 rose 51% to $571,000, or 20 cents a share, compared to $378,000, or 14 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue was up 9% to $7.7 million from $7.1 million a year earlier.

The company attributed its improved performance to several new government contracts.
