Bell Gardens : Police Files to Be Thinned

Share

The Bell Gardens City Council has directed the Police Department to destroy certain documents that are more than two years old. Beginning next week, “several boxes” of assorted police documents will be destroyed to create storage space at the police headquarters on Garvey Avenue, City Clerk Leanna Keltner said.

Documents to be destroyed will include moving traffic violations, parking violations, bail receipts, daily police blotters and receipts for cash, Keltner said. Keltner said that state law provides for the destruction of the documents. The Huntington Park Municipal Court maintains copies of all the records to be destroyed.
