Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson, who set the world record in the 100 meters, 9.83 seconds, last August in the World Track and Field Championships at Rome, will race today at the inauguration of Europe’s highest-altitude track--6,726 feet above sea level--at Sestriere, Italy.

Johnson’s archrival, Carl Lewis, will also compete, but in the 200 meters.
