Share

Less than a week after Soviet troops pulled out of the strategic northern provincial capital of Kunduz, a Western diplomat reported that Afghan rebel forces have taken the city. Communications between Kunduz, the capital of the province of the same name, and the Afghan capital, Kabul, reportedly were cut off.
