Two bombs exploded in Sri Lanka on Saturday, killing seven Indian soldiers and destroying a bridge and part of a main railway line, the Indian High Commission said.

A spokeswoman said the bombs in the northern town of Manakulam, 16 miles along the main railway line, were planted by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, the main guerrilla group fighting for a Tamil homeland.
