INDIANAPOLIS — Diver Bruce Kimball, who faces alcohol-related manslaughter charges in Florida, said today that he will compete in the U.S. Olympic diving trials in Indianapolis. “I can’t give up and I won’t give up,” Kimball said in an emotional statement.
Kimball, flanked by his family, occasionally was near tears and his hands shook as he read a prepared statement. He said he came to Indianapolis “to help me get from one day to the next. . . . Diving is my work.” Kimball won the silver medal in platform diving during the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
