Guns Stolen From Greek Police in Ruse
Six men raided a police station in suburban Athens, disarmed the surprised officers and fled with their weapons, authorities said.
A man dressed in a police officer’s uniform and another person pretending to be a suspect in the phony officer’s custody approached the station in the suburb of Viron on Sunday and subdued a guard on duty, police said in a statement.
The two were joined by four other men wearing masks who entered the station and, catching five officers by surprise, locked them in a detention room, the statement said.
The statement gave no indication as to the identity of the raiders, who took two pistols, two automatic weapons and two rifles.
