The president of the state-run Argentine Airlines resigned to protest a plan to sell 40% of the carrier to Scandinavian Airways Systems, a deal he initially favored. Horacio Domingorena, after criticizing the proposed deal, presented his resignation to President Raul Alfonsin. Domingorena, a 68-year-old lawyer, will be succeeded by Ecuadro Gonzalez del Solar, a 47-year-old member of the Argentine Airlines board.
