As a Jewish friend of Foumiko Kometani for more than 20 years, I must correct a false impression given by your article. I know she is not anti-Semitic.

Like Foumi, I am also the mother of a handicapped child and have watched her suffer and fight for her child. She founded and ran a day-care center for the handicapped for five years, without drawing a salary; hardly the actions of a hateful person. It would be unfortunate if her intentions were misjudged, and even more unfortunate if her works were misconstrued and used by bigots to further their own ends.
