Slain Man Identified as Sikh Rebel Leader

AMRITSAR, India —
Police said Sunday that a man killed in a clash a month ago had been identified as a top Sikh separatist.
Punjab Police Chief K. P. S. Gill told reporters that a Sikh arrested Sunday has identified the dead man as Avtar Singh Brahma, head of the Khalistan Liberation Force.
The force is one of the leading groups fighting in the northern state of Punjab for an independent Sikh homeland.
