Final ‘Last Temptations’
I cannot help but wonder what would happen if Martin Luther King Jr. was the subject of a fictionalized version of his life. Perhaps portraying him as a wimpy, weak man not sure of his cause, used by those around him and dreaming of commiting adultery with fellow workers but giving in to the role thrust upon him.
There would be a general outcry by all groups concerning how far artistic license can be tolerated.
But then, of course, “The Last Temptation of Christ” was only dealing with the second person of the Holy Trinity who happens to be our Savior, our Judge, our Lord.
I vow to keep silent no longer on any issue I find offensive and my hope is that the silent ones will do the same.
