Mike Pigg of Arcata, Calif., set a record course time of 1:44:03 to win a triathlon at Chicago.

Pigg, 24, beat last year’s winner, Brooks Clark, 21, of West Chester, Pa., who finished second in 1:45:56, followed by Nick Taylor, 26, of Austin, Tex., in 1:46.21.

Erin Baker, 26, of New Zealand, was first in the women’s division, with a time of 1:58.45. Colleen Cannon of Boulder, Colo., was second in 1:59.50, and Paula Newby-Fraser of Encinitas was third in 2:01.40.
