Salvadoran President Jose Napoleon Duarte, suffering from incurable liver cancer, resumed his official duties. Looking gaunt and tired, Duarte posed for photographs before receiving the credentials of the new U.S. ambassador, William Walker. The 62-year-old president has had two weeklong chemotherapy sessions in Washington since the diagnosis in June.
