Using computers in the classroom may help students learn better but too few teachers know how to use them and students have limited access to such technology, according to a government report. The congressional Office of Technology Assessment said in a report to be released today, that the United States has been a world leader in providing schoolchildren with access to new technologies but “classrooms today resemble their ancestors of 50 and 100 years ago” with teachers standing in front of a blackboard and lecturing while students take notes or look out the window, said the report, released by the House Education and Labor Committee.
