Another Pennsylvania school walkout was announced as teacher strikes in four states affected nearly 50,000 students. More than 2,500 teachers were on strike in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan and Louisiana. Pennsylvania’s strikes grew to seven when 315 teachers in the Cheltenham District of Montgomery County, with 3,800 students, reached an impasse on salary and working conditions.
