Smoking Ban Enacted
The City Council gave final approval to a smoking ban in all buildings owned or leased by the city.
The ordinance permits the city manager to designate smoking areas in the buildings. City officials said all groups representing city employees approved of the ordinance, which also affects buildings on park sites and the temporary structures that are housing city offices during construction of the new civic center.
