More pop controversy: The Amnesty International “Human Rights Now!” show went on Tuesday despite some protests by church groups in Costa Rica, who claimed the show--featuring rock stars Bruce Springsteen and Sting--features “satanic” music. Catholic church leaders and evangelists called for the concert to be canceled because they say it will contribute to drug use and encourage satanic cults. The Costa Rican government, which co-sponsored the concert, rejected the criticism. “This music is neither diabolic nor conducive to drug addiction, it is of the highest quality and in a good cause,” Costa Rican Culture Minister Carlos Francisco Echeverria said.
