Lebanese hijacker Mohammed Ali Hamadi proudly pointed to the blood of a slain U.S. hostage aboard a TWA jetliner and indicated he was happy that the man was dead, an American witness told a court in Frankfurt, West Germany. Hamadi is on trial for air piracy and murder in connection with the hijacking of the TWA plane in June, 1985, in which 39 Americans were held hostage for 17 days. TWA flight engineer Benjamin Zimmermann described how Hamadi showed him the blood of U.S. Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem. “Mr. Hamadi joyfully pointed to the blood running down the door. And with the pistol he pointed, he indicated, he was very proud of this gun and of him having caused this,” he said.
