A Miami judge has ruled that Maria DeSillers may keep her furniture and cemetery plot next to her son’s grave because two anonymous people contributed more than $11,650 in a gesture to keep the controversy over suspected mishandling of charity funds from affecting fund drives for sick children. DeSillers is accused of spending money donated to her son, Ronnie, on personal items. Ronnie died in Pittsburgh, Pa., in April, 1987, while he was awaiting a fourth liver transplant. Circuit Judge Francis Christie ruled that DeSillers could keep the furniture and plot if the donated money goes into Ronnie’s estate.
