Rockwell Manager Admits Fraud : Ex-Rockwell Manager Guilty

A former manager in Rockwell International’s satellite division pleaded guilty today to charges he participated in a scheme to overcharge the U.S. Air Force nearly $450,000 on a navigational system.

Robert Zavodnik, 46, of Fountain Valley, who was a manager of major subcontracts in the satellite division in Seal Beach, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to make false statements and one count of making false statements. He faces sentencing Nov. 28 before U.S. District Judge Consuelo Marshall. Donald Carter, former director of the material division of the satellite systems division, faces trial along with the giant aerospace firm this fall on charges that they obtained secret reimbursements for certain costs of a $1.2-billion NAVSTAR global positioning project.
