Incensed at Scenting

Share

As one of the estimated 10% of people who suffer from allergies, I would like to make a plea to those wanting to odorize more and more products and places--don’t. I had to stop using perfumes in college, then a few years later I had to start looking for odor-free versions of everything from facial tissue to laundry detergent. When a department store or magazine includes a perfume sample I start sneezing. My problem gets worse with age.

I can’t believe that in the future I might have to shop for odor-free furniture or look for the odor-free store and suffer from fewer choices because the majority of products make me sneeze. As was pointed out in your article, fresh, clean air is the best smell.
