FHP International, a health maintenance organization based in Fountain Valley, reported record earnings and revenue for the fiscal year ended June 30. Robert Gumbiner, chairman and chief executive officer, attributed the increases to membership growth, cost-effective use of medical resources and a significant federal government rate increase for the company’s senior plan. Net income for the fourth quarter totaled $6.1 million, contrasted with a loss of $1.8 million for the comparable quarter of fiscal 1987. Revenue rose 49% to $145.1 million from $97.7 million.
