No wonder our boxing coaches had problems reading the schedule, with not one but two (count ‘em) rings in the same building. I mean, that’s a lot of rings. More than one for sure.

And if that weren’t enough, they were labeled Ring A and Ring B. What a conundrum!

Furthermore, the schedules were in English. How confusing when one is in Korea.

To top it all off, in a deceptive attempt at lucidity, the times were specified in both military and civilian formats (which would mean that the 10:00 military hour would appear also as the enigmatic 10 a.m.).

Clearly somebody didn’t want the American to show up!

Maybe you don’t have to pass a literacy test to vote in this country, but it seems a certain minimum standard should be required of our Olympic coaches.
