Office Building Boom Reported in San Diego

Share

A booming economy and “growth, traffic and sensitive land issues” have helped contribute to a record 4.4 million square feet of office building space under construction in San Diego County in the first half of this year.

This is a 45% increase over the 2.4 million square feet under construction for all of last year, according to Grubb & Ellis Co.

Three-quarters of the office space under construction is in three major markets--Downtown San Diego, North University City and Mission Valley--according to the Grubb & Ellis survey.
