Richard Thomas of “The Waltons” and Linda Hamilton of “Beauty and the Beast” play husband and wife in “Go Toward the Light,” a TV movie on CBS. It’s about a couple who discover that their 8-year-old son has AIDS. Piper Laurie and Ned Beatty portray the grandparents.

Ben Cross, who starred in “Chariots of Fire,” has the lead role in “Pursuit,” a four-hour drama that NBC has commissioned. He plays a Nazi who, in an effort to escape prosecution as a war criminal, disguises himself as a Jew, gets sent to a concentration camp and ultimately finds himself caught up in the struggle to establish the Jewish state of Israel. Also starring are Veronica Hamel and Bruce Greenwood.

Cindy Williams of “Laverne & Shirley” and Markie Post of “Night Court” will co-star in “Tricks of the Trade,” a TV movie for CBS. Their characters are brought together by the murder of a man.

The Golden Globe Awards will have a new home next year. The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. has given telecast rights to cable superstation TBS, which plans to broadcast the annual ceremony honoring TV and motion pictures on Jan. 28.

Robert Urich, no longer in “Spenser: For Hire,” is starring in a TV movie for CBS called “The Comeback.” He plays a former pro football star who returns to Minneapolis after many years away to renew his relationship with his college-age son, played by Mitchell Anderson. That effort is complicated when the son’s girlfriend (Chynna Phillips) begins to fall in love with the father.

James Brolin, the former star of “Hotel,” will team up with his son, Josh, in “Finish Line,” a TV movie being made for cable’s Turner Network Television channel. Naturally enough, they play father and son. The younger actor plays a track athlete facing pressure from his father to excel.
