The Kenosha, Wis., City Council and Kenosha County Board have endorsed Chrysler Corp.’s $15-million settlement offer over the auto maker’s decision to end production in the town, despite chants from hundreds of angry union members to “sue, sue, sue.” Chrysler plans to stop auto assembly at the end of the year, ending 5,500 jobs. Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson had threatened to sue the company, saying that it had broken a promise to keep the former American Motors Corp. plant open for five years after purchasing AMC last year.
