Two of Iceland’s centrist parties and one from the left agreed to form a government led by outgoing Foreign Minister Steingrimur Hermannsson, party spokesmen said. “It is quite definite that there will be a new government in place” today, Hermannsson said. The new coalition, formed by the Progressive Party, the Social Democrats and the leftist People’s Alliance, is expected to push through emergency legislation to extend a wage and price freeze past a Sept. 30 deadline. The previous government collapsed 10 days ago.
