Frank R. Kirchhoff has been appointed to the new position of vice president of international marketing for Western Digital Corp. He will oversee Western Digital’s international sales operations and international technical and customer support. Before joining the company, he was vice president and general manager of Group Three Electronics and vice president of North American operations for Cipher Data Products. He has also held various senior-level sales and marketing positions for Memorex and, before that, financial positions for American Machine & Foundry. In addition, Bob L. Corey, controller and chief accounting officer, has been named a vice president. Corey joined Western Digital in 1985 as sales controller. Since then, he has also held the position of director of corporate accounting and assistant treasurer, before being named controller and chief accounting officer in May, 1987. And Leo J. Young has been named to the new position of vice president of intellectual property rights. His responsibilities will cover all the company’s activities related to patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and associated licensing. Young came to Western Digital from the law firm of Christie, Parker & Hale where he was a partner and associate for 19 years. Western Digital, based in Irvine, manufactures computer products.
