Former Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammed Khan Junejo announced the formation of a three-party alliance to contest next month’s general election. Junejo told a conference that his Pakistan Muslim League is joining forces with the Tehrik-i-Istiqlal party of former air force chief Asghar Khan and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, an Islamic party. The government has pledged that the vote, slated for Nov. 16, will be free and fair.
