The Pentagon denied that it is officially asking Britain to determine if any of 22 British defense experts who have died mysteriously since 1982 worked on the U.S. “Star Wars” project. “We are not aware of any such official requests or initiatives,” spokeswoman Jan Bodanyi said. The Sunday Times of London had quoted an unidentified U.S. spokesman as saying the Defense Department wants to determine if any of the 22 experts had worked on the “Star Wars” system, formally known as the Strategic Defense Initiative. Coroners’ inquests have found in most cases that the men were either killed in accidents or committed suicide.
