U.N. Group Allots Satellite Slots in Space

The International Telecommunications Union has agreed to give each member nation a satellite slot above the Earth allowing for continuous domestic use. The ITU, a specialized United Nations agency, said each country would be given a slot in the geostationary orbit.

The aim of the allocation plan is to provide each of the ITU’s 165 member states with one orbital position.
