MOSCOW —
The Soviet Union has built a new, more fuel-efficient passenger jet that can carry 214 passengers up to 2,480 miles, the Communist Party newspaper Pravda reported Monday. The Tupolev 204 will undergo flight trials this year and be introduced into service by the state-run carrier Aeroflot in 1990, Pravda said.
