First Lady Honored for ‘Just Say No’ Effort
First Lady Nancy Reagan was honored by service clubs and other organizations Thursday night for her “Just Say No” campaign against drug abuse.
Speaking at the conclusion of a testimonial dinner in her honor, the First Lady said: “I think my work against drug abuse has provided me with the most fulfilling years of my life.”
At a private reception before the testimonial dinner, Mrs. Reagan was presented with the Colombian congressional order of the Great Extraordinary Cross with Gold Star in recognition of her work with young people in drug prevention programs. The award was presented by Amilcar Lopez Lopez, president of the Colombian Senate.
